The Reception Scavenger Hunt Game

I’ve seen this done at a few weddings now and its a good time every time! In this version, we had a “receiver” (mom in this case) sit in the middle of the dancefloor and the DJ called out random items that the wedding party needed to retrieve from the crowd. A tube of lipstick. An earing. A $20 bill. Whoever got that item to the receiver first, won a point toward their team…in this case, bridesmaids vs groomsmen.

Practice Your First Dance

I like to give my couples something to do instead of just standing still. One of my go to instructions is to “practice” their first dance. Sometimes they take it seriously and sometimes ONE of them hams it up and I am completely okay with that, haha.

Let Loose and Have A Little Fun

The formalities are over. Now it’s time to party!!!! I love it when wedding parties really let loose as soon as they get to the reception. It’s always a sure fire way to know that the party is going to be a good time!

Go Stand in a Tree

I love sticking my couples in trees. It’s the surrounding of nature and the focus on the subject sure but it's also just fun. Now, if you are concerned about getting sap on your dress or something then that is totally okay. My couples are allowed to tell me know and I can USUALLY tell if they would like to play it safe by this point in the day, but I’ll always ask if you are okay with doing something a little sketchy :P

A Few Portraits in the Woods

These two were troopers. Summer weddings can get hot! So I try to keep the portrait part of the day moving.
