Milestones Often Come with a Party!

Baby showers are a lot of work. You’ve decorated and Pinterest-ed until your eyeballs felt like falling out so when it comes to the actual party, you should be able to kick back and relax. (Literally, you are growing another human)

That’s where I come in!

I don’t get to do it very often, but I love, love, love photographing family events. I approach these events in a fairly documentary way—capturing all the details and interactions among family—and then if you’d like we can grab some photos of family groups too. It’s totally up to you (Not everyone likes to stand for a formal photo)

With my wedding schedule—Sunday and weekday parties have the best chance for availability, but Saturdays are available in the wedding off-season of January-April. Shoot me over a message if you are interested in more information. I’d love to be a part of capturing your families memories <3

Natural Newborn Photography in Anderson, Indiana

Babies are being born left and right over here and I could not be more excited to get to photograph so many cuties this year! I get a lot of emails from people looking for a newborn photographer who specializes in a more laid back photography style and I’m happy to help!

My newborn photography sessions are specifically designed to capture your new life — the cute, the silly, the quiet, and the loud. Each session usually lasts around 45-90 minutes. There are no hard time limits because babies do not work on anyone’s schedule but their own :P This allows us to take as many breaks to nurse or change diapers as needed.

Since we are doing more natural style newborn photos, I usually recommend scheduling around 20-30 days post birth. If you are being induced or have a C-section scheduled, we can set a date ahead of time, but you can so just shoot me an email after the baby arrives and we can usually find a date / time that works as well!

The Many Expressions of Babies

I love photographing newborns a little later than usual. They are so expressive and their personality really starts to shine through! Sometimes, we’ll just lay them down and watch all the different faces they make. This little one was very expressive and put the biggest smile on my face.

If you are looking for a more natural newborn photographer in the fishers, Indiana area then shoot me a message! I would love to capture your new addition just the way they are—the silly and the serious, the quiet and the loud. Parenthood is an adventure!

Sessions usually last about an hour but can go a little over or under depending on what is needed. I never rush newborn sessions just in case we need to take a few breaks to nurse or change diapers / outfits. I try to make your newborn session as stress free and laid back as possible.

I Am Not a Photoshopper...

The Michigan City lighthouse is a super important place to these two and they were really excited to get their maternity photos done around sunset to capture some of the Midwest magic that they so loved. However, Indiana being how it is, the weather did not cooperate. We got clouds and not a sunset to be found.

…so I made one!

I am not a Photoshop-er by any means. In fact, if you look real close you’ll probably see some armature mistakes if you know what you’re doing, but to us mere mortals, I think my efforts paid off! I am so glad that I was able to give these two the epic sunset on a few of their photos.

I’ve been photographing a lot of Maternity sessions this spring (there must be something in the water) so if you would like to book your own session feel free to message me! I photograph every day of the week and all of my sessions are all inclusive—so you’ll get travel to your location, an hour session, digital files, and printing rights. Maternity sessions are usually scheduled around the 7month mark and my turn around time runs 3ish weeks unless you need them early.

I’m looking forward to photographing YOUR next milestone <3

Celebrating New Additions in Westfield, Indiana

Catching up with more of my couples this weekend who are embarking on the next adventure into parenthood. I love photographing newborns in a relaxing and natural way. Growing and birthing a child kind of upends your normal routine for a while so the more relaxed and easy I can make a newborn session, the better.

I photograph newborns in a style that’s less posed and more laid back so if you are looking for a lifestyle newborn photographer or a documentary newborn photographer than I am your girl! I will come to your house so you don’t have to worry about packing up and transporting a million diapers and pacifiers to a studio and can relax if your newborn has a blowout or needs nursed during our session.

There is also no hard session cut off for newborn sessions. I block out extra time for newborns just in case we need to take breaks to nurse or change diapers. Newborn sessions are never rushed and that way we are able to capture a wide variety of photos.

Because my newborn sessions are less posed, I actually recommend scheduling your photos around 20-30 days after you come home. If you are being induced and/or know your due date, we can schedule ahead of time, but if not, just shoot me an email when you get home.
